In the early hours of Friday morning (3rd October), the Learning Zone on BBC2 will be broadcasting a number of English Literature focussed programmes that may be of interest for Primary and Secondary schools. With specific programmes on poetry (including the GCSE exam board favourite, Simon Armitage), unique re-workings of popular fairy tales, and short takes on popular Primary school books- this collection of shows may be worth setting the recorder for to add to your school’s archive of resources. Alternatively, clips from all of these programmes are available through their Learning Zone microsites.
Poets in Person (Friday 3rd October, 3:55AM, BBC2)
A collection of six short films focussing on contemporary poems from John Agard, Imtiaz Dharker, Mimi Khalvati, Daljit Nagra and Grace Nichols. The programme features readings from, and discussions with, the poets themselves about their work.

Bringing Books to Life (Friday 3rd October, 5:40AM, BBC2)
