Gravity And Me: The Force That Shapes Our Lives

It’s invisible and we never give it a thought -but gravity is essential to our lives. It even affects the amount we weigh and the rate at which we age. In this 90-minute programme, physics professor Jim Al-Khalili investigates the amazing science of gravity and recreates some of the experiments that proved its existence and enabled it to be measured.

He also helps to design a smartphone app and finds that there are some surprises in store during the course of his investigations.  A must for teachers of science, especially physics, as it contains some fascinating potential clips. This 90-minute programme broadcast at 9 pm on Tuesday 28 March is available on BBCiPlayer and the and the BBC microsite also features a short clip from the programme about an intriguing story Albert Einstein told his son about a beetle..

BBC iWonder has further resources available on Issac Newton and gravity, including clips from Issac Newton: The Last Magician, previously shown on BBC2
