This week S4C are airing a great deal of content looking back on 150 years of ‘Y Wladfa’ – the Welsh settlement in Argentina.

A chance to see a BBC archive special, filmed in 1968 – with a particular look at the people who live in the area.

A docu-drama that explores the life of Nel Davies – who emigrated to Patagonia in 1875.



Galesa, 9:30pm

A unique drama filmed in Patagonia with the participation of the Welsh community. The film follows an actress who now lives in Cardiff as she returns home to Argentina during the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Welsh colony.


Patagonia: Yno o Hyd, 10:25pm

This programme considers the prevalence of the Welsh language in Patagonia.



Y Ty Cymreig 2007 – Patagonia 8:25pm

Looks at the homes, and lives, of people who live in the Welsh colony.
