As part of ERA’s commitment to helping licence holders make best use of the material available to them, we have decided to start highlighting our ‘top pick’ each week. We’re hoping to reveal multiple educational uses for a single episode, series, or film with enough time to act as a ‘heads up’ for teachers to be able to record, or access the material.
Channel 4 are launching a new series looking into a pioneering care method for people with dementia. From the Channel 4 Press Release:
Poppy Lodge is a specially built dementia care unit within Galanos House, a Royal British Legion Care Home near Leamington Spa. The Lodge has been running for three years and uses a progressive approach to dementia care. There are 30 residents – all of them associated with the Armed Forces. They often live in their own realities and the staff work alongside the residents to bring to life those memories which allow the resident to stay as happy and contented as possible.
Starting on Thursday at 9pm Dementiaville will follow residents, staff, and families to see the impact of this progressive care.
