Who we are

As part of ERA’s commitment to helping licence holders make best use of the material available to them, we have decided to start highlighting our ‘top pick’ each week. We’re hoping to reveal multiple educational uses for a single episode, series, or film with enough time to act as a ‘heads up’ for teachers to be able to record, or access the material.

On Monday (20th) at 5.20pm, the CBBC channel will be airing a special episode of Horrible Histories. Bolshy Boudica will explore the life of the famous Iceni queen who fought against the Romans, through songs and sketches.  A preview of a song from the special is available here.

As Boudica is one of the suggested topics for British resistance to Roman rule on the KS1 & KS2 History curriculum, this episode of Horrible Histories is ideal for a teacher looking to introduce the topic to a group. As Horrible Histories is famed for its use of catchy songs, it may also be of use to Music teachers looking for a lesson starter.
