Who we are

ERA welcomes the appointment of James Lancaster, former BBC Head of Rights and Business Affairs as the Chair of the Copyright Licensing Steering Group overseeing several workstreams, including the development of the Copyright Hub, as part of the cross-industry initiatives to take forward the recommendations in Richard Hooper’s report ‘Copyright Works’ – the conclusion of the second phase of his work on copyright policy development which aims to streamline copyright licensing for the digital age.

John Robinson, Chair of the ERA board of directors, said, ‘James Lancaster is an excellent choice for the chair of the Copyright Licensing Steering Group and we look forward to working with him; his experience and wide perspectives will be invaluable in enabling the most productive engagement from all the representatives from all our creative sectors in this important initiative for copyright in the digital age.’
