Synopsis
The first in a new series of five programmes in which actor Ian McKellen presents his personal choice of poetry and prose. These include 'Tom Thumb's Alphabet', ‘Sun Rising' by John Donne, ‘Sonnet 14’ by John Donne, 'To His Coy Mistress' by Andrew Marvell, ‘Sonnet 61’ by William Shakespeare, 'Help' by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, ‘Letter to Cathleen Nembitt’ by Rupert Brooke, 'I Am Like A Train' by Yevgeny Yevtushenko.
