Synopsis
Adam Hart-Davis makes marmalade, takes on a champion in the sport of real tennis and learns how to use the first piece of domestic machinery - the knitting machine - as he recalls how many luxuries of the modem world can be attributed to the Tudors, including carpets, upholstered furniture and flushing lavatories.
