We’ve recently added hundreds of new clips to our Video Streaming Platform covering a wide range of subjects at Further Education. For each subject we’ve selected the most useful and informative clips to help with the teaching and learning of core topics.
Explore what’s new for your subject below or search our Video Streaming Platform for many more inspiring educational resources.
Nursing & Midwifery
With record numbers of students and nurses being accepted on to courses, it’s fortunate that nursing students have a wealth of broadcast material to draw upon. Through the Video Streaming Platform, ERA licence holders have access to clips from BBC television programmes including, Saving Our Nurses, The Midwives and Matron, Medicine and Me.
Teachers and students can revisit moments from programmes that make for great case studies and excellent visual teaching aids. Hear a nurse talk about her experiences of when a patient passes away, watch a midwife as she performs a home visit, or find out what it’s like being a student midwife.
Hospitality & Catering
The hospitality and catering sector has become a fruitful source of television material over the years. From fly-on-the-wall documentaries in 5 star hotels, to some of our best loved cooking shows, there’s no shortage of much loved broadcast content that hospitality and catering students can learn from.
We’ve just added clips from popular television programmes including Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby, The Great British Bake Off, and the best shows from renowned TV chef, Michel Roux Jr.
Business & Management
Business and management remains a popular choice of subject for students in further and higher education. Our collection of clips, taken from shows such as Dragons’ Den, Peter Jones Meets and Theo’s Adventure Capitalists cover a range business disciplines, from marketing and retail through to finance and logistics.
Art & Design
Television clips are such an effective tool to showcase the vast range of techniques and processes that are studied as part of Art & Design courses. From learning about the evolution of photography in BBC Two’s Age of the Image, through to spectating (and even drawing along) with a clip from Life Drawing Live, the Video Streaming Platform has over 200 clips supporting the study of Art & Design.
ERA’s educational resources are free at the point of use for registered users and are available to institutions holding an ERA Licence – you can check on our licence information page. For any queries please call 020 7837 3222 or email era@era.org.uk
