Synopsis

Patrick Wright takes a four-part voyage down the 210-mile course of the River Thames, looking at it through the eyes of people who live and work on it, and showing how its colourful history has helped to shape today's Britain. Wright travels from Red Sand Towers in the Thames estuary to the Thames Barrier.
