Prefaces to Shakespeare | All’s Well That Ends Well

All's Well That Ends Well

A personal introduction to the play by actor Sebastian Shaw, who played the King of France in the 1967 Royal Shakespeare Company stage production directed by John Barton. Shaw's first Stratford engagement was in 1926 and he reminisces about Shakespearean traditions and his views about this bitter-sweet comedy. "Much of the plot of All's Well is frankly incredible, but the characters are so marvellously observed and their interweaving so intriguing that you will, I believe, willingly suspend your disbelief."
